Reviews & feedback
Average rating 1.0 based on 1 reviewMy wife and I (both seniors) recently brought our old, but reasonably well maintained, bikes out of storage and asked Jubilee to fix a flat, oil and check/adjust the bikes. The gentleman indicated that the center-pull caliper brakes counldn't be adjusted and immediately tried to up sell us new brakes etc. For more than the value of the bikes. When we declined he said he'd get the rest done by the following day. We picked the bikes up - the flat was fixed and we took them for a ride. My wife's bike front derailer would only switch between two of the three gears so we returned to the shop and asked them to adjust the derailer (what was just a matter of loosening one bolt and tightening the slightly stretched cable). Again the same chap told us it wasn't repairable and tried to up sell us a new shifter system - also worth more than the bike. We left and went home and I, with the help of a 9mm wrench, adjusted the cable and the derailer now works perfectly. Suffice it to say I was not impressed. I can't believe the person was so incompetent as to truly believe that neither the breaks nor the shifting systems could be adjusted and so I must conclude that he didn't want to work on some old bikes but was willing to sell us $500 worth of upgrades. I normally wouldn't even waste my time posting a comment but it strikes me that others - with simple, basic service issues should know that Jubilee is not the place to take their bikes...unless they want to spend hundreds of dollars on unnecessary upgrades.
